So now #riscv camp along with #ibm #zemlinpac #openpower and ARM, Google etc. all claim to have "open" chips. In practice, however, it is partial. But a step in a positive direction? Definitely. Let's watch closely and scrutinise.

@schestowitz Main issue with RISC-V is companies like HexFive[0] and projects like Keystone[1] are trying to add treacherous computing support.[2] Hex Five is part of the RISC-V foundation and partnered with SiFive, Microsemi, Andes Technology, and AdaCore. Keystone is supported by MIT and and Berkley. The value of RISC-V depends on how irrelevant HexFive and Keystone become.
